Call for Papers & Demos
The 1st edition of the PRiSM workshop will join forces with the 20th anniversary of the AE-CAI, CARE, and OR 2.0 workshops as a co-located full-day event hosted @ MICCAI in Strasbourg, France. We invite submissions on computer-assisted interventions (CAI) for surgical and medical procedures, including mixed-reality-enabled methods and broader intervention-centric medical imaging advances.
Topics of Interest
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Augmented, virtual and mixed reality Medical image visualization and understanding
- Surgical simulation and training
- Image-guided and robotic interventions
- HCI considerations in computer-assisted interventions
- Accessible and affordable surgical technologies
- Multi-modal registration and Fusion
- Tool/tissue tracking and calibration
- Digital twins for computer-assisted interventions
- Integrated Computer-assisted Intervention platforms
- Tele-presence and remote care/delivery/interventions

Call for Demos
We also welcome submission of proposals for live demos. All accepted demos will be showcased during the AE-CAI-PRiSM Workshop on Sept 27th and will be featured in the 2026 Special Issue of Wiley’s Healthcare Technology Letters journal dedicated to the 2026 AE-CAI-PRiSM proceedings.
For live demo submissions, please use the AE-CAI and PRiSM 2026 one-page demo proposal template. This template is for demo proposals only. It requests a short abstract, a one-page demo summary, resource requirements, consent information where applicable, and a downloadable demo video link.
Paper Submission & Proceedings
Submit your PRiSM 2026 contribution by July 16th, 2026 through the AE-CAI 2026 CMT submission site. Detailed submission information is available on the Submission Instructions page.
Formatting & Requirements:
- Please format your manuscript according to the template of the Wiley Healthcare Technology Letters (HTL) journal. See the Wiley HTL Author Guide and use the Wiley LaTeX template.
- We recommend 8 to 10-page manuscripts for initial submission, and up to 12-page manuscripts post-revision for publication.
- Please format your manuscripts using the Wiley IET HTL style files and formatting before submission.
- All reviews will be double blind in accordance with MICCAI 2026 regulations. Initial submissions should be anonymized following the MICCAI 2026 paper submission guidelines.
Special Issue Publication:
- Workshop proceedings will be published in a Special Issue on AE-CAI, CARE, OR 2.0, and PRiSM of Wiley’s IET Healthcare Technology Letters journal.
- Wiley’s IET HTL is an open access journal, and the publisher has agreed to a 50% discount for all AE-CAI 2026 papers. Wiley will also provide waivers/discounts to corresponding authors from institutions in countries on the Waivers and Discounts List.
